Building a better bonita springs

Foundation History

The Foundation of Bonita Beach Sunset was chartered in July 2017, by its Board of Directors, who were all members of the Rotary Club of Bonita Beach Sunset. The Foundation primarily funds youth and family charity projects, community service projects, as well as support the Seven Areas of Rotary Focus (Child & Maternal Health; Literacy, Disease Prevention, Water Sanitation & Purification; Economic Development in Impoverished Areas; Peace Initiatives; and Environment. We do have a donor directed gift program, where donors at a certain level may direct their gift to one or more areas of focus.

We are a 100 percent Volunteer organization. No Board members or Club members are paid with proceeds of the foundation. While there is a small overhead for bookkeeping and State of Florida annual filing fees, your donations go to fund the events, projects and programs directed by the Foundation Board of Directors. The purpose of the contributions to the Foundation of Bonita Beach Sunset are to be exclusively for charitable and educational purposes, including the making of distributions to organizations that qualify as exempt under Sec. 501 C 3, of the Internal Revenue Code. We adhere to all of the Florida Department of Agriculture policies, rules and regulations for our Board members, solicitation of donations and gifts to qualified organizations, programs and projects.

The foundation is the giving arm of the Rotary Club of Bonita Beach Sunset. We provide flexible ways for club members, citizens and corporations to participate in our foundation giving to Rotary sponsored and approved programs and services. We provide scholarships for Rotary youth programs, projects, training for youth, parents, and funding for sustainable local and international projects & programs.
